I attached a zip tie to a coworker’s driveshaft on a late 90’s explorer. The vapvapvap as he drove of I almost fell down laughing. I got called out for it immediately and fessed up. Apparently he drove it till it snapped off and quit hitting the undercarriage.

I’ve got a pack of those, 4 were enough to keep my car springs compressed when I installed my coilovers. I use two as a battery tie down, my batter only weighs 3lbs though so they’re overkill.

I was also able to help install a friends, after the actual spring compressor cross-threaded. I used some rope and a long screw driver. Looped the rope around the spring and twisted the rope using the screwdriver. It worked.

I used to bale cardboard, I can see using the wire for car springs.

I use ones very similar to that to check the trans fluid level in my Charger. Works great.
